The Noblesse line, specifically, was introduced in the 1960s and has since become a staple for "fika" (Swedish coffee breaks) and gifting. Production is primarily centered in Sweden, specifically at the Mondelēz factory in Upplands Väsby, near Stockholm. This facility handles the majority of Marabou's chocolate tablet and specialty production for the Nordic market.

Ownership of the brand transitioned from the original family company to Kraft Foods in 1993, and subsequently to Mondelēz International following the 2012 corporate split. As of 2026, Marabou remains a central brand in the Mondelēz portfolio, though it has recently navigated public scrutiny in Scandinavia regarding its parent company's international operations.
