Chanteclair is a renowned Italian brand specializing in laundry detergents, particularly known for its distinctive Marsiglia soap fragrance. Founded in 1979, Real Chimica S.r.l. acquired the Chanteclair brand in 1996, aiming to revitalize the use of traditional Marsiglia soap in modern cleaning products. This strategic move successfully reintroduced the classic 'clean scent' associated with Marsiglia soap to contemporary consumers. Over the years, Real Chimica has expanded its product line to include various detergents and cleaning solutions, solidifying its position in the Italian market. In 2011, the company further diversified by incorporating the Quasar brand, which offers professional-grade cleaning products for both small and large domestic surfaces. This expansion allowed Real Chimica to strengthen its presence in the market segments of surface cleaning and laundry care. In June 2025, Real Chimica merged with Italsilva Commerciale S.r.l., another company within the Desa Group, enhancing its commercial identity and brand portfolio. This merger positioned the combined entity as a leader in the Italian detergent market, particularly in the laundry segment, where it achieved the third position, and in surface cleaning, where it maintained the top spot. The company operates four production facilities in Italy and collaborates with 40 international commercial partners, generating a revenue of over 400 million euros in 2023, with approximately 25% of this revenue coming from exports.
