Azúcar Ebro is a renowned Spanish sugar brand with a rich history in the country's sugar industry. Founded in 1911 as Azucarera del Ebro, the company specialized in producing sugar from sugar beets and expanded its operations across Spain. In 1928, it merged with Compañía de Alcoholes, adopting the name Ebro, Compañía de Azúcares y Alcoholes, and broadened its product range to include various sugar types and alcoholic beverages. In 1990, the company merged with Compañía de Industrias Agrícolas, forming Ebro Agrícolas, Compañía de Alimentación. In 2001, it merged with Puleva S.A., a dairy company, to become Ebro Puleva, S.A. In 2009, the sugar division was acquired by Associated British Foods, a UK-based multinational food processing and retailing company, marking the end of Ebro Puleva's involvement in the sugar market. Today, Azúcar Ebro continues to be a leading sugar brand in Spain, known for its high-quality products and commitment to the Spanish sugar industry.
