Radio Garden

Radio Garden is a non-profit Dutch radio and digital research project that allows users to listen to live radio stations from around the world by navigating a 3D globe interface. Developed between 2013 and 2016 by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, under the supervision of Golo Föllmer from Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, and in collaboration with the Transnational Radio Knowledge Platform and five other European universities, Radio Garden aims to connect people globally through shared radio experiences. The platform gained significant popularity in 2016 when it surpassed 8,000 registered stations and went viral, as announced at The Radio Conference 2016: Transnational Encounters. In 2019, Radio Garden transitioned into an independent company, Radio Garden B.V., headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The platform is accessible via its website and mobile applications, offering users the ability to explore and listen to radio stations from various countries and regions.
