Nueces de California are high-quality walnuts cultivated in the fertile Central Valley of California, a region renowned for its ideal conditions for walnut production. The industry comprises over 4,500 growers and approximately 85 processors, all represented by the California Walnut Commission (CWC) since 1987. The CWC focuses on scientific research and international market development for California walnuts. California is the leading producer of walnuts in the United States, exporting approximately 45% of its harvest to countries such as Spain, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Canada, Israel, Turkey, and China.
