Estrella Galicia Especial is a flagship premium lager produced by the independent Spanish brewery Hijos de Rivera. The brand's history dates back to 1906 when José María Rivera Corral founded the La Estrella de Galicia brewery in A Coruña, Galicia, after returning from emigration in Mexico and Cuba.

This specific beer is a bright golden lager known for its balanced bitterness and characteristically pleasant hoppy flavor, achieved through a selection of bitter malts and hops. The production process, which includes cooking, fermentation, and maturation, traditionally takes more than 20 days.

Ownership of the brand has remained within the founding family for over a century. It is currently managed by Hijos de Rivera, S.A.U., which continues to operate as a 100% Spanish-owned, independent company headquartered in A Coruña. The brand has expanded its global presence significantly, becoming one of Spain's most recognizable international beer exports.
