Château Lynch-Bages is a renowned winery located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. Established in 1749 by the Lynch family, of Irish descent, the estate has a rich history of producing high-quality red wines. In 1939, the Cazes family acquired the property, and under the leadership of Jean-Charles Cazes, the estate has undergone significant modernization and expansion. The vineyard spans approximately 100 hectares, with an average vine age of 30 years, and is planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wines are known for their power, structure, and aging potential, often described as impressive at five years, beautiful at ten years, and irresistible at twenty. The Cazes family also owns other estates, including Ormes de Pez in Saint-Estèphe, producing classic wines with the same care and attention as those from Lynch-Bages.
