This process includes reverse osmosis filtration to remove impurities and the addition of a proprietary blend of minerals—specifically magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and salt—to achieve its signature crisp and consistent taste profile.

Over the years, the brand has expanded its presence to numerous international markets, though its availability and branding can vary by region. In Mexico, for instance, it was previously marketed as Ciel Dasani before the 'Dasani' sub-brand was largely phased out in favor of the primary 'Ciel' brand. Currently, the brand is undergoing significant sustainability transformations, with a major shift toward using 100% recycled plastic (rPET) for its bottles and exploring aluminum packaging to reduce its environmental footprint as part of Coca-Cola's broader 'World Without Waste' initiative.
