Seiko wristwatch

Seiko, a renowned Japanese watchmaker, was founded in 1881 by Kintarō Hattori in Tokyo. The company began by selling and repairing timepieces, and in 1892, established the Seikosha factory to produce wall clocks. The name 'Seiko' was first used in 1924 for a wristwatch, symbolizing precision and success. Seiko is known for its vertically integrated manufacturing process, designing and producing all components in-house, including mechanical, quartz, and Spring Drive movements. The company operates several facilities in Japan, such as Morioka Seiko Instruments, Tono Seiko, and Ninohe Seiko, as well as the Shiojiri facility of Seiko Epson. Additionally, Seiko has expanded its production to other countries, including Singapore, where it established subsidiaries like Tenryu (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and Singapore Time Pte. Ltd. Seiko's commitment to innovation is evident in its development of the world's first quartz wristwatch in 1969 and the Spring Drive movement in 1999.
