The brand remained under the control of the Samuels family for decades before being acquired by various liquor conglomerates. Today, the brand is owned by Beam Suntory, a major global spirits player headquartered in Osaka, Japan. The company was formed following the acquisition of Beam Inc. by Suntory Holdings in 2014, and it continues to oversee the global distribution and marketing of the Maker's Mark portfolio.
