Grey Goose is a premium spirit brand that was meticulously designed to appeal to the high-end American market. It was first conceived in 1997 by Sidney Frank, an American businessman and founder of the Sidney Frank Importing Co., who aimed to create a luxury vodka with French heritage. Unlike many spirits of its time, every aspect of its production—from the soft winter wheat harvested in Picardy to the spring water filtered through limestone in Gensac-la-Pallue—is deeply rooted in French agricultural traditions.
The brand's manufacturing process is overseen by a Maître de Chai (cellar master) to ensure the distillation meets the standards of French culinary craftsmanship. In 2004, the brand was acquired in a landmark deal by Bacardi, one of the largest family-owned spirits companies in the world. Since then, Grey Goose has expanded its global reach while maintaining its core production strictly within France, capitalizing on the country’s reputation for luxury and quality gastronomy.
