Santa Maria is a well-established spice brand with roots in Gothenburg, Sweden, where it began in the early 1900s as a small spice trade company known as Nordfalks. Over the decades, it expanded to become the leading seasoning brand in the Nordic market and rebranded as Santa Maria AB in 2001. Today, the brand is a core part of the Paulig Group, a Finnish family-owned food and beverage company founded in 1876.

While the raw ingredients like marjoram are sourced globally—often from countries like Egypt—the final processing, blending, and packaging primarily take place in the company's dedicated spice factories. The main production hub is located in Mölndal, Sweden, with another facility in Saue, Estonia. This strategic setup allows Santa Maria to maintain high quality and purity standards for its products sold throughout Europe.
