Ovaltine, known as Ovomaltine in its native Switzerland, is a historic brand of malted drink powder originally developed in 1904 by Dr. Albert Wander in Bern. While it is deeply associated with British culture—having been manufactured at a landmark Art Deco factory in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, for most of the 20th century—local UK production ceased in 2002. Since then, products sold in the UK market are primarily produced by Wander AG in Neuenegg, Switzerland.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned from its original Swiss founders (Wander AG) to the pharmaceutical giant Novartis, and finally to Associated British Foods (ABF) in 2002. Today, ABF owns the brand worldwide, with the notable exception of the United States, where rights are held by Nestlé. In the UK, the brand is managed under the Twinings division, an ABF subsidiary. The 'Original Light' variant is specifically formulated to be lower in fat and designed to be prepared by adding hot water rather than milk.
