The brand was founded over 125 years ago and remains a family-owned enterprise. While the company operates approximately six manufacturing plants globally—including facilities in France, Brazil, and India—the vast majority of their primary roasting and blending for the European market, particularly traditional lines like Qualità Rossa, takes place at their historic and modern facilities in Italy.

Today, the brand is managed by the fourth generation of the Lavazza family, maintaining its status as a private global leader in the coffee industry without being absorbed by larger food conglomerates.
