The brand became famous for its chocolate-coated wafers, specifically the 'Kägi fret' launched in 1958. Today, the product line includes various treats like the Crisp'n cream shown in the image.

All Kägi products are manufactured at the company's sole production site in Lichtensteig, located in the Toggenburg region of Switzerland. The brand prides itself on its '100% Swiss made' status, utilizing traditional methods such as conching the chocolate for 48 hours to ensure premium quality.

While originally a family-owned business, Kägi Söhne AG was sold in 1996. After several ownership changes involving private equity firms like Valora and Argos Soditic, the company has been under the ownership of the Swiss investment group Burger & Söhne (specifically the Burger family) since 2010. The company remains an independent Swiss entity headquartered in Lichtensteig.
