Mionetto Prosecco

Mionetto Prosecco is one of the world's most recognizable sparkling wine brands, known for its iconic orange label and its deep roots in the heart of the Prosecco region. The brand was founded in 1887 by master winemaker Francesco Mionetto in the small village of Valdobbiadene, nestled in the rolling hills north of Venice. For over a century, the winery has remained a benchmark for quality and innovation in the production of Glera grapes, the primary variety used for Prosecco.

All Mionetto Prosecco is manufactured in Italy, specifically within the designated DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) and DOCG regions of Northeast Italy, spanning the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia provinces. The production process utilizes the Charmat method, where the secondary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine's fresh, fruity, and floral aromas.

Ownership of the brand shifted in 2008 when it was acquired by the German Henkell & Co. Group. Following a major merger in 2018 between Henkell and the Spanish cava giant Freixenet, the brand is now part of the Henkell Freixenet group. Headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany, Henkell Freixenet is the world's leading producer of sparkling wine. The brand continues to be distributed globally through various subsidiaries, including Freixenet Mionetto USA for the North American market.
