Tunnock's Milk Chocolate Teacakes

Tunnock's is an iconic Scottish brand with a history dating back to 1890, when Thomas Tunnock purchased a baker's shop in Uddingston, Lanarkshire. The company achieved global recognition in the 1950s under the leadership of Archie Tunnock and his son Boyd, who developed the signature Teacake in 1956. This product consists of a soft marshmallow mound on a biscuit base, coated in milk chocolate and wrapped in its distinctive red and silver foil.

To this day, Tunnock's remains a family-owned and operated business, a rarity among major confectionery brands. All production continues to take place at the original factory site in Uddingston, Scotland. The company is currently led by Sir Boyd Tunnock, the grandson of the founder, ensuring the brand maintains its independent heritage and traditional manufacturing methods while exporting to over 60 countries worldwide.
