Star Te Classico black tea

Star Tea, specifically the 'Te Classico' variety, is a historic Italian brand produced by Star Stabilimento Alimentare S.p.A. The company was founded in 1948 by Regolo Fossati in Muggiò, Italy, and the name 'Star' was inspired by his wife, Stella Pogliani (as 'Star' is the English translation of Stella). While the company is famous for its bouillon cubes (dadi) and sauces, Star Tea was launched in the 1960s as the first tea in filters marketed in Italy.

In 2006, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when it was acquired by the Spanish food group Gallina Blanca, part of the Agrolimen Group. Following a restructuring and rebranding process, the parent company was renamed GBfoods in 2015. Today, Star Tea continues to be a staple in the Italian market, maintained under the umbrella of GBfoods, which manages a wide portfolio of culinary brands across Europe and Africa.
