Timmendorfer Bauern-Mettwurst

Timmendorfer is a regional brand of the REWE Group, specializing in traditional North German meat and sausage products. The brand is deeply rooted in the history of the Wilhelm Brandenburg company, which was originally founded in 1885 in Rügenwalde (modern-day Poland). After the Second World War, the family relocated the business to Timmendorfer Strand on the German Baltic coast in 1949.

In 1986, the REWE Group acquired the company, and since then, Wilhelm Brandenburg has operated as the primary private-label meat producer for REWE and Penny. The 'Timmendorfer' brand was officially launched as a premium regional label in late 2023 to emphasize the company's local production and heritage. The products are manufactured at the historic facility in Timmendorfer Strand, Schleswig-Holstein, maintaining traditional recipes such as smoking over beech wood.
