Fnac (Fédération Nationale d’Achats des Cadres) is a premier French multinational retail chain specializing in cultural and electronic products. Established in 1954 by André Essel and Max Théret, the brand was built on a unique model of providing independent product evaluations and expert advice to consumers. Originally a members-only discount club, it evolved into a public retail powerhouse known for its diverse selection of books, music, consumer electronics, and ticketing services.

In 2016, Fnac merged with Darty, another major French retailer, to form the Fnac Darty Group. This strategic merger solidified its position as a leader in the European retail landscape. Today, the group operates hundreds of stores across various countries including France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, and Morocco. While Fnac acts primarily as a distributor, its private-label products and services are sourced and manufactured through a global network of partners, predominantly in Asia and Europe, ensuring a wide range of technological and cultural offerings for its international customer base.
