Borotalco is one of Italy's most iconic personal care brands, with a history spanning over 120 years. The brand's origin dates back to 1878 in Florence, where the English pharmacist Henry Roberts invented 'Boro-Talcum' at his pharmacy on Via Tornabuoni. By 1904, the signature absorbent powder was marketed in its famous green tin, becoming a staple in Italian households. Over the decades, the brand expanded from its classic talcum powder into a comprehensive range of personal hygiene products, including deodorants, soaps, and shower gels.
Today, Borotalco is owned by the Bolton Group, a major Italian multinational. The product in the image, the 'Originale Effetto Asciutto' vapo deodorant, continues to use the brand's signature 'Profumo di Borotalco' and often features microtalc technology for sweat absorption. While the brand has achieved significant international presence, it remains deeply rooted in Italian craftsmanship and heritage, with its primary manufacturing and sourcing of high-quality talc remaining centered in Italy.
