The brand was originally created in the United States in 1996 by Darius Bikoff and his company, Energy Brands. Following its rapid success in the North American market, it was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company in 2007 for $4.1 billion. In the UK, the brand is manufactured and bottled exclusively at the Coca-Cola Europacific Partners plant in Morpeth, Northumberland, which has received significant investment to support the brand's unique production requirements.
