Landliebe Butterkäse

Landliebe is one of Germany's most prominent and trusted dairy brands, founded in 1977 as a premium brand by Südmilch AG. Over the decades, it became synonymous with traditional dairy production and high-quality standards. Originally established in Heilbronn, the brand underwent significant ownership changes, most notably being part of the Dutch cooperative Royal FrieslandCampina for many years.

In April 2023, the brand entered a new era when it was acquired by the Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller (Müller Group). As of 2026, the brand is fully integrated into the Müller portfolio, though it maintains its distinct identity focused on natural ingredients and traditional recipes.

Manufacturing of Landliebe products, including its cheese varieties like Butterkäse, takes place primarily in Germany. While the historical production sites in Heilbronn and Schefflenz were scheduled for closure by summer 2026 due to restructuring, the Müller Group continues to produce the full Landliebe range at its other state-of-the-art facilities across Germany to ensure the brand's continuity and supply.
