Suunto 5

Suunto 5 is a performance-oriented multisport GPS watch designed and manufactured by the Finnish company Suunto Oy. Originally founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen, Suunto has a long-standing heritage of producing precision instruments, including compasses and dive computers, in Finland. The Suunto 5 and its lighter variant, the Suunto 5 Peak, are noted for being handcrafted at the company's factory in Vantaa, Finland, which utilizes 100% renewable energy.

While the brand maintains its headquarters and primary manufacturing facility in Finland to preserve its 'Made in Finland' quality and heritage, the corporate ownership has shifted in recent years. After being part of the Finnish Amer Sports group (which was acquired by ANTA Sports in 2019), Suunto was sold in May 2022 to the Chinese technology firm Liesheng. Despite this change in ultimate ownership, Suunto continues to operate as an independent brand with its design and production centered in its Finnish home base.
