Purina Gourmet Gold is a premium wet cat food brand offered in small cans, featuring various textures like pâté, chunks in gravy, and mousses. The Gourmet brand was originally established as a high-end sub-brand of Purina to cater to specialized feline culinary preferences.

The global Purina brand has its roots in the United States, founded as Robinson-Danforth Commission Company in 1894. However, the Gourmet brand is heavily marketed and produced within Europe. Most Gourmet Gold products sold in European markets are manufactured in dedicated pet food facilities in France and Hungary.

Today, Purina—and by extension the Gourmet brand—is owned by Nestlé, the world's largest food and beverage conglomerate. Nestlé acquired Ralston Purina in 2001, merging it with its own Friskies PetCare division to form Nestlé Purina PetCare, headquartered in Switzerland.
