Energizer is a global leader in power solutions, with its roots stretching back to the late 19th century. The brand's history began in 1896 with the creation of the world's first consumer battery by W.H. Lawrence, and the invention of the first flashlight by Conrad Hubert in 1898. These two innovators joined forces in 1905 to form the American Ever Ready Company, which later became Eveready. The 'Energizer' brand name was officially introduced in 1980 for its alkaline product line.

Today, Energizer products are manufactured in several locations worldwide to serve different regions. Major production facilities are located in the United States (including sites in North Carolina and Ohio), Singapore (its largest international plant and the only one outside the US producing lithium cells), Indonesia, and several European locations. The company also expanded its reach through significant acquisitions, such as Rayovac and the automotive care brands Armor All and STP.

Energizer Holdings, Inc. is currently an independent, publicly traded company headquartered in Clayton, Missouri. After years of corporate ownership under Union Carbide and later Ralston Purina, the company was spun off as a standalone entity in 2000. It is now primarily owned by institutional investors, including large asset management firms like Vanguard and BlackRock.
