Doliprane is France's most iconic and best-selling over-the-counter medication, primarily used for pain relief and fever reduction. Originally created in 1964, the brand has become a staple of French healthcare. The product is almost exclusively manufactured within France at two major production facilities: Lisieux in Normandy and Compiègne in northern France.

Historically part of the French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, the brand underwent a significant ownership shift starting in late 2024. Sanofi sold a controlling stake in its consumer healthcare division, Opella (which owns Doliprane), to the American private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R). Despite this change in capital ownership, stringent agreements with the French government ensure that the production, research, and headquarters remain in France to protect national health sovereignty. As of 2026, the brand is operated by Opella under the majority ownership of CD&R, with Sanofi and the French state-owned bank Bpifrance retaining minority interests.
