Palladium began its journey in 1920 in Lyon, France, initially as a manufacturer of aircraft tires. Following World War II, as the demand for tires dropped, the company pivoted to footwear, applying its expertise in vulcanized rubber and canvas to create the iconic Pampa boot in 1947. This boot became a staple for the French Foreign Legion due to its durability and comfort in desert environments.
Over the decades, Palladium transitioned from a military supplier to a global fashion icon, embraced by explorers, artists, and rockers alike. While the brand maintains its French heritage and design ethos, production shifted to the Asia-Pacific region to meet global demand and maintain technical standards.
In terms of ownership, the brand has seen several transitions. Today, it is part of the portfolio of KSGB (K-Swiss Global Brands), which is a subsidiary of the Chinese retail and manufacturing giant Xtep International Holdings Limited. This ownership structure has enabled Palladium to expand its retail footprint significantly across European and Asian markets.
