Technicolor

Technicolor is one of the most storied names in the entertainment industry, originally founded in 1915 by Herbert Kalmus, Daniel Frost Comstock, and W. Burton Wescott in the United States. It became world-famous for its pioneering color motion picture processes that defined the Golden Age of Hollywood. Over the decades, the brand evolved from a film processing giant into a global technology leader. In 2001, it was acquired by the French conglomerate Thomson Multimedia, which later rebranded the entire company as Technicolor SA in 2010 to capitalize on the brand's prestigious reputation.

In September 2022, the company underwent a major restructuring: the creative services division was spun off as Technicolor Creative Studios, while the remaining hardware and supply chain business (focusing on broadband gateways and set-top boxes) was rebranded as Vantiva. In a significant development in August 2025, the licensing company 'Established.' acquired the Technicolor brand itself. This move placed the brand under the same ownership portfolio as other historic technology names like RCA and Thomson. Today, products bearing the Technicolor name, such as network equipment, are produced across a global supply chain with manufacturing facilities in locations including Brazil, Vietnam, and India.
