Altano wine

Altano is a prominent brand of Douro DOC (Denominação de Origem Controlada) table wines, produced by the world-renowned Symington family in Portugal. While the family has a heritage in Port production dating back 14 generations, the Altano brand was specifically launched in 1999 as a dedicated range of still wines that showcase the unique terroir of the Douro Valley. The wines are crafted using indigenous Portuguese grape varieties grown in the family's extensive collection of 26 Quintas (estates).

Manufacturing of Altano wine takes place entirely within the Douro region of Northern Portugal, primarily at the modern Quinta do Sol winery near Régua. The brand is managed by Symington Family Estates, a family-owned company of British and Portuguese ancestry. As a certified B-Corp, the company is recognized for its commitment to sustainable viticulture and social responsibility, maintaining one of the largest organic vineyard holdings in the region.
