Calvé Pindakaas is one of the most iconic food products in the Netherlands, recognized for its creamy texture and distinctive recipe. The brand traces its roots back to the late 19th century in Delft, being established by the Nederlandsche Olie Fabriek (NOF). Over more than a century, it has evolved from a local oil factory production into the market leader for peanut butter in the Dutch region.
While the brand was originally born in Delft, it was eventually acquired by the multinational giant Unilever. Today, the production of Calvé peanut butter is primarily localized in the Netherlands, specifically at the Unilever factory in Hellendoorn. This close-to-home manufacturing ensures that the product maintains its nostalgic and high-quality standards that Dutch consumers have grown to expect.
