Trendyol e-commerce platform

Trendyol is Turkey's leading e-commerce platform and fashion retailer, founded in 2010 by entrepreneur Demet Mutlu. Originally established as a fashion-focused online site, it has evolved into a massive digital marketplace often referred to as a 'super-app.' The platform offers a wide variety of products, from its own private-label fashion brands like TrendyolMilla and Trendyol Man to electronics, home goods, and groceries.

While the platform hosts thousands of independent sellers who source products globally, Trendyol's own fashion collections are significantly manufactured within Turkey, leveraging the country's robust textile industry. In 2018, the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group acquired a majority stake in the company, later increasing its ownership to approximately 70-86% through subsequent investments. Despite this international ownership, Trendyol maintains its operational headquarters in Istanbul and remains a cornerstone of the Turkish tech ecosystem as the country's first 'decacorn.'
