Rausch is a distinguished German chocolate manufacturer with a legacy dating back to 1918, when Wilhelm Rausch founded his first private confectionery in Berlin. The company is renowned for its specialization in high-quality 'Edelkakao' (fine flavor cocoa) chocolates, strictly adhering to the principle of single-origin cocoa from specific plantations in regions like Costa Rica, Peru, and Ecuador. This commitment to origin is a core part of their 'Tree to Door' philosophy, ensuring direct trade and sustainable farming practices.
To this day, Rausch remains a family-owned business, currently managed by the fifth generation under Robert Rausch. The company operates two major locations: its headquarters and main production facility in Berlin-Tempelhof, and the 'Schokoladenhaus' (Chocolate House) at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin, which is one of the world's largest chocolate specialty stores. Additionally, the company maintains a significant presence in Peine, where it previously operated a second factory and still maintains a popular chocolate visitor center. All Rausch products are manufactured locally in Germany, emphasizing traditional craftsmanship combined with modern, sustainable production methods.
