The brand is manufactured in the United Kingdom, primarily at the Crown Paints facilities in Darwen and Hull. Ownership of the brand shifted significantly in 2011 when the Danish coatings giant, Hempel A/S, acquired Crown Paints from its private equity owners. Today, Sandtex Trade operates as a flagship professional brand under the Crown Paints umbrella, benefiting from the global research and distribution network of the Hempel Group.
