F-Secure Mobile Security

F-Secure Mobile Security is a prominent cybersecurity solution designed to protect mobile devices from malware, phishing, and privacy breaches. Originally known as Data Fellows, the company was founded in 1988 by Risto Siilasmaa and Petri Allas in Helsinki, Finland. It holds a significant place in history as the first company to develop heuristic scanners and the first to offer mobile antivirus solutions for the Nokia Communicator family.

In June 2022, the company underwent a major structural change where its corporate division was rebranded as WithSecure, while the consumer-focused business continued under the F-Secure name. Today, the brand is part of F-Secure Oyj, a publicly-traded entity on the Nasdaq Helsinki. While headquartered and originally developed in Finland, its manufacturing (software development and server hosting) is distributed across multiple global locations to ensure data residency and low-latency protection for its international user base.
