Chips Oman is a legendary snack originating from the Sultanate of Oman. Launched in 1983, it quickly became a cultural icon in the Gulf region, particularly in Oman and the UAE. The brand was established by Mr. Ali Khudadat Ahmed Al Shaihani, who founded the Ali Shaihani Group of Industries to create locally produced snacks and beverages to compete with foreign imports.
The product is manufactured primarily in the Al Wadi Al Kabir industrial area of Muscat, Oman. While the parent company originally produced corn-based snacks like Pofak Oman, the immense success of the chili-flavored potato chips led to the formation of Al Jufair Food Industry LLC in 1989 specifically to handle fresh potato chip production. Today, Chips Oman is widely exported across the Middle East and even to Europe, maintaining its status as a nostalgic staple for generations of residents.
