KoRo Date Hazelnut Spread is a vegan, organic nut-based spread that emphasizes a simple, clean-label ingredient list. The product is originally a creation of the Berlin-based startup KoRo, which focuses on providing high-quality foods in efficient bulk packaging to reduce waste and middleman costs.

While the raw ingredients are sourced globally—including dates from Tunisia, hazelnuts from Italy, and vanilla from Madagascar—the final processing and manufacturing of the spread take place in Germany. This ensures quality control and adheres to the strict EU organic certification standards represented on the label.

Ownership of the KoRo brand remains with the founding company, KoRo Handels GmbH. However, since its inception in 2014, the company has attracted significant investment from several major international entities, including HV Capital, Partech, and Associated British Foods. It continues to operate as an independent German company headquartered in Berlin, led by its management team and original founders.
