Shin Ramyun is the flagship product of Nongshim, a South Korean food giant. Originally launched in 1986, the brand was named after the Chinese character 'Shin' (辛), which means 'spicy' and also serves as the surname of the company's founder, Shin Choon-ho.
While the brand's heart and history are firmly rooted in South Korea, its massive global success has led to widespread international production. To meet demand across more than 100 countries, Nongshim operates several state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Primary production occurs in South Korea (across multiple cities like Ansung and Busan), but the company also maintains major plants in the United States (California) and China (Shanghai, Qingdao, and Shenyang).
Nongshim is currently managed under a holding company structure, with Nongshim Holdings serving as the ultimate owner. The brand remains a dominant force in the global instant noodle market, often cited as a cultural representative of Korean spicy flavors.
