The brand's history dates back to 1834, originating in a small shop called 'Jordbærkælderen' (The Strawberry Cellar) in Copenhagen, founded by J.L. Andersen. For generations, the brand has maintained its commitment to traditional craftsmanship, famously using open pots for gentle heating to preserve the integrity and flavor of the fruit.

While the brand maintains a strong Danish heritage and primary production remains centered in Denmark, it has seen several ownership changes over the decades.
