Bacardi Carta Blanca White Rum

Bacardi White Rum, famously known as Bacardi Carta Blanca, is one of the most recognizable spirits in the world. It was first created in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó in Santiago de Cuba. Don Facundo revolutionized the rum-making process by using a unique strain of yeast, purposeful charcoal filtration, and purposeful aging in white oak barrels to create a smooth, light-bodied spirit that differed significantly from the harsh 'firewater' of the era.

Following the Cuban Revolution in 1960, the Bacardi family's assets were confiscated by the government, leading the company to move its operations and trademarks out of the country. Today, the brand is headquartered in Bermuda and operates the 'Cathedral of Rum' in Cataño, Puerto Rico, which is the largest premium rum distillery in the world and accounts for approximately 85% of its global production. Additional production occurs in Mexico and India, while bottling facilities are located in various regions including the United States.
