Q8 is the international trademark of Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), the global refining and marketing arm of the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). Established in 1983, the brand name 'Q8' is a clever phonetic representation of the country 'Kuwait.'

The brand's product range is vast, encompassing high-quality automotive lubricants, industrial oils, and aviation fuel. While the crude oil originates from Kuwait's massive reserves, the manufacturing and blending of final products occur across a global network. Q8Oils specifically operates major blending plants and research centers in Belgium (Antwerp) and Italy (Castellar Guidobono). It also maintains a significant presence through a network of over 4,400 service stations across Europe, including Italy, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. In Scandinavia, it operates through the OKQ8 joint venture.

Ownership of the brand remains entirely under the Kuwaiti government via the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. This vertical integration—from exploration and production in the Middle East to refining and retail distribution in Europe and Asia—allows the company to maintain strict quality control and market a wide array of specialized petroleum derivatives globally.
