Nescafé Per Latte is a specialized instant coffee blend designed specifically to be mixed with milk, known for its intense flavor profile and smooth solubility even in cold liquids. The brand's journey began in the 1930s when the Brazilian government sought Nestlé's expertise to find a way to preserve their massive coffee surpluses following the 1929 stock market crash. Chemist Max Morgenthaler spent years perfecting a soluble coffee that retained the bean's natural aroma, leading to the official launch of Nescafé in Switzerland on April 1, 1938.
Today, Nescafé is the world's leading coffee brand, operating under the global umbrella of the Swiss multinational Nestlé. While the original production began in Orbe, Switzerland, manufacturing now takes place across a vast global network of over 20 facilities to meet demand in more than 180 countries. For the Italian market, where the 'Per Latte' variety is particularly popular, the brand is managed by Nestlé Italiana S.p.A., emphasizing a blend that caters to the local tradition of caffelatte. The brand also focuses heavily on sustainability through the 'Nescafé Plan,' sourcing 100% of its beans from responsible origins to support farmer livelihoods and environmental health.
