Nonna Pia's is a Canadian gourmet brand that specializes in authentic balsamic reductions and glazes. The brand's origin story traces back to 2010 in Whistler, British Columbia, where husband-and-wife duo Norm and Natasha Strim developed their unique recipe after being inspired by traditional balsamic vinegar during a trip to Italy. The product is named after Norm's mother, Nonna Pia.
While the core ingredient—the aged balsamic vinegar—is imported from Modena, Italy (IGP certified), the final processing, fruit infusion, and bottling take place in Canada. The brand gained significant attention following a successful appearance on the Canadian business reality show Dragons' Den, where it secured investment to scale operations across North America.
In 2021, the brand was strategically acquired by Ocean Brands GP, which is a division of the Jim Pattison Group. Today, Nonna Pia's continues to operate out of British Columbia, leveraging its Canadian manufacturing base to distribute its premium glazes internationally.
