Kettle Brand is a pioneer in the premium, all-natural snack industry, having been founded in 1978 by Cameron Healy in Salem, Oregon. Originally starting as the N.S. Khalsa Company, the brand initially focused on roasted nuts before launching its signature kettle-cooked potato chips in 1982. These chips are characterized by their thick cut and batch-cooking process, which provides a distinctive crunch compared to standard mass-produced potato chips.

Over the decades, the brand underwent several ownership changes, moving from private equity (Lion Capital) to Diamond Foods, then to Snyder's-Lance. In 2018, the Campbell Soup Company (now The Campbell's Company) acquired Snyder's-Lance, bringing Kettle Brand into its extensive snack portfolio. While the North American operations remain under Campbell's ownership, the European and UK branches were sold to Valeo Foods Group in 2019.

Manufacturing for the North American market is centered in the United States, with major production facilities located in Salem, Oregon, and Beloit, Wisconsin. The brand is well-known for its 'Tater Tracker' program, allowing consumers to trace the origin of the potatoes in their specific bag back to the farm where they were grown, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and natural ingredients.
