Ryvita Original Snackbread

Ryvita is a historic British brand of rye-based crispbreads and snackbreads, first established in 1925 by John Edwin Garratt. While the brand initially imported its products from Scandinavia, it began domestic production in Birmingham, England, in 1932. Following the destruction of the Birmingham bakery during World War II, production moved to its current home in Poole, Dorset, in 1949.

Since 1949, Ryvita has been owned by Associated British Foods (ABF). Today, it is part of The Jordans & Ryvita Company, a subsidiary of ABF. As of 2026, the brand continues to be a staple in the healthy snack market, holding a Royal Warrant for its quality. In Canada, the product is distributed with bilingual packaging (English and French), often listing an Ontario-based PO Box for local consumer inquiries, though the manufacturing remains centered at the primary facility in the United Kingdom.
