The water is sourced from a single natural spring in the Ouachita Mountains, located near Hot Springs, Arkansas. Originally founded by brothers Peter and John Greene as 'Lockett's Spring Water,' the company was later renamed and officially incorporated in 1883. Throughout its history, the brand has changed hands several times, including a significant period under the Schlafly family. In 2018, the company was acquired by DS Services, a subsidiary of Cott Corporation. Following a major strategic merger in late 2024, the brand is now part of the Primo Brands Corporation, a leading North American beverage company formed through the combination of Primo Water Corporation and BlueTriton Brands.
