Arnott's Salada Wholemeal crackers are a staple in Australian households, known for their versatile perforated design that allows them to be split into smaller portions. Originally launched in 1952 by the Melbourne-based Brockhoff Biscuit Company, the Salada brand was integrated into the Arnott's portfolio during the 1960s. For decades, production remained at the original Brockhoff factory in Burwood, Victoria, until 2001 when manufacturing was centralized to Arnott's primary facility in Sydney.

Today, the brand is part of The Arnott's Group, which continues to manufacture these crackers in Australia using local wheat. Ownership of the brand has changed hands several times in recent decades; after being owned by the American Campbell Soup Company for over twenty years, it was sold in 2019 to the American global investment firm KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Inc.). Under KKR's stewardship, The Arnott's Group remains headquartered in Sydney while operating as a significant player in the Asia-Pacific snack market.
