DJI Flip drone

The DJI Flip is a compact, ultra-lightweight consumer drone launched by DJI in early 2025. Designed specifically for content creators and beginners, it features a unique foldable design where the propellers and their integrated full-coverage guards stack beneath the body, making it highly portable. Weighing under 249 grams, it falls below the weight threshold for many strict aviation regulations, allowing for easier recreational use in various regions without extensive licensing.

Technically, the Flip is equipped with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor capable of 4K/60fps HDR video and 48MP photos. It incorporates advanced AI subject tracking and 3D infrared sensing for obstacle detection, enhancing safety for indoor and outdoor flights. While it can be controlled via traditional DJI remotes like the RC-N3 or RC 2, it is also designed for autonomous operation, supporting palm takeoff and landing without the need for a separate controller. Manufacturing is primarily centered in China, where DJI maintains its major production facilities.
