Yum Yum chips are a staple of the Canadian snack market, particularly within the province of Quebec. Founded in 1956 by Robert Bergeron in Laurierville, the company was soon acquired in 1959 by the Jalbert family, who have managed it for three generations. The brand is celebrated for its deep local roots and historical innovations, such as being the first to introduce Salt & Vinegar chips to the Canadian market in 1966 and co-developing the popular 'All Dressed' flavor.

Currently, the brand is part of the Aliment Krispy Kernels group, another family-owned Quebec enterprise based in Warwick. Manufacturing primarily takes place at their dedicated 100,000-square-foot facility in Warwick, Quebec, using locally sourced potatoes. The company remains a 100% Canadian-owned family business, maintaining its independence from global snack conglomerates as of 2026.
