Perlenbacher Pils beer

Perlenbacher is a well-known private-label beer brand exclusive to the German discount supermarket chain Lidl. The brand was established to provide a high-quality, budget-friendly German-style pilsner that adheres to the traditional German Beer Purity Law, or Reinheitsgebot, which restricts ingredients to water, malted barley, and hops.

While the brand is owned by the Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, the beer itself is manufactured by various external contract breweries. Historically, much of the production has been attributed to Frankfurter Brauhaus in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, though production for different markets may occur in other locations such as France. The version shown in the image is a 2.8% ABV (alcohol by volume) pilsner specifically tailored for the Swedish market, where lower-alcohol 'folköl' is commonly sold in grocery stores. The brand recently gained significant international recognition, with its Premium Pilsner winning 'World's Best Classic Pilsner' at the 2024 World Beer Awards.
